"The Study of Art is something that cannot be once completed then set
aside. Knowledge is never complete. Research and meditation are
always the source of new ideas."

About JanetJanet was born in Midland, Texas, where she lived until the age of ten. Moving to Dallas in 1975, she continued her art training all through school and into college at the University of North Texas. Although she majored in advertising art, she chose to pursue a fine art course specializing in papermaking.
For the next sixteen years, Janet produced commissions for private and corporate patrons and had numerous shows featuring her work.
After moving to Austin, Texas in 2000 her work took a different direction. Always emotionally inspired by nature, Janet began to study the works of California Impressionists, George Wendt and Edgar Payne. She pursued instruction with Don Ward, Scott Christensen, John Budicin, Matt Smith, and Skip Whitcomb. Working in her studio, Janet uses field studies and photographs to create dynamic landscapes and architectural scenes.
"I want the viewer to feel the warm breezes rustling the leaves, and sense the calm of the afternoon sun. Color and brush strokes can inspire the senses, and bring you into the scene."
Janet's work has been exhibited in nineteen nationally juried shows in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, Washington, Wyoming, and Illinois. She has been represented by galleries all over the United States.
